- Candidates must have at least five years of cumulative, full-time professional experience in two or more domains outlined in the CISSP Exam.
- One year of this experience requirement can be waived if the candidate holds an additional credential from the ISC2 approved list.
- Individuals lacking the required experience can still pursue the CISSP designation by passing the exam and becoming an Associate of ISC2. As an Associate, they have six years to accumulate the necessary five years of professional experience.
